Since 2018 Future IM/Pact has been working with students from Australia’s leading universities, as well as new graduates, to help them land their first job in investment management. From summer internships and graduate programs to junior analyst roles, we provide our investment management partners with access to top diverse talent, with a focus on helping them recruit more women.
Note, we’re not a recruitment company, so we don’t interview candidates and provide shortlists. Instead, we’re building and nurturing a talent pool of mostly exceptional young women, who we can promote our partner’s job opportunities to.
Candidates who can demonstrate industry knowledge, technical skills and a passion for investing are most likely to succeed. Future IM/Pact’s programs and events are designed to enable exactly that.

Investment management - did you know?
Most investors start at the analyst level, evaluating investment opportunities and trends. Some work their way up to the role of portfolio manager where they make the calls on what investments to buy and sell. However, junior analyst roles tend to require 2-3 years (plus) of work experience in traditional finance roles like investment banking or management consulting.
Non-traditional backgrounds that are research and maths-centric are increasingly in demand, such as physics, tech, engineering and medical research. The standout candidates can demonstrate their passion for investing through internships, self-investing, industry events and networking.
