The Future IM/Pact annual investment competition is a platform for gender-based teams of 2-4 university students to get hands-on experience solving and presenting investment challenges to leading investors. Not only do students get practical exposure to the types of complex problems analysts and portfolio managers solve daily, they also have the opportunity to win a paid internship with one of our incredible partner organisations.
Proudly supported by UNIT, this is your opportunity to gain invaluable exposure to the investment management industry and its leaders who are actively looking for bright university students to join their teams. We receive hundreds of applications, and our partners are always impressed with the calibre of our participants, with several partners extending internships to finalists following our 2023 competition.

2023 finalists and winning team
The 2023 Investment Competition was our biggest yet, with over 330 people registered and 20 partner firms taking part. Following a round of virtual heats, five teams were chosen to attend our competition final in Sydney. Teams presented their case studies to a panel of industry judges, for the chance to win one of the following prizes:
- 2 x 6-week paid internship with QIC (Brisbane)
- 1 x 3-month paid internship with VFMC (Melbourne)
- 1 x 3-month paid internship with TCorp (Sydney)
- 1 x 3-month paid internship with Schroders (Sydney)
- 2 x 4-week paid internships with Cbus Super (Melbourne)
- 1 x 6-week paid internship with Mercer (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne)
- 1 x 4-week paid winter internship with Munro Partners (Melbourne)
- 1 x shortlist for summer internship with Platinum Asset Management (Sydney)
Our judging panel was blown away by the analysis and insight presented by the final teams, awarding NSW team Headliner Capital the top prize. Congratulations to Headliner team members Nathan Yuan, Eva Lin, Ella Fu and Ashwin Rao.Â
